  4 cups cold water   2 cups flour (sifted)  2 eggs
2 cups corn meal  2 teaspoon baking powder  1 cup milk
 1 cup sugar pinch salt  
 3/4 stick butter    

 You need a heavy tick pot and a greased baking pan.

This is not a family recipe.  Irene Turner gave it to me when I lived in Delaware.  Its very good. 

Place the cold water and the corn meal in the heavy thick pot boil until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.

Take off the burner and add the sugar and butter.  Stir well.

Add 2 cups flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well.

In a small bowl stir well eggs and milk.  Pour into other batter.  Mix well.

Pour into a greased pan

Bake 15 minutes @ 450.  turn down heat to 350 and bake 1 hour.

Wait 15 or 20 minutes to turn out.
