Best rolls on earth!

1 1/4 cups scalded milk 1 1/2 packages yeast 4 cups flour sifted
1 cup lard (or shortening) 1 cup warm water 1 tsp salt
3/4 to 1 cup sugar 1 tsp sugar 2 eggs beaten

You will also need 4 more cups of flour.  If you are making cinnamon buns you will need more butter or margarine, more sugar, and  cinnamon.  We never used raisins because Mom didn't like them, but if you want them, you will need them also.

Combine the ingredients in column one in a bowl

Combine the ingredients in column two in a bowl

Then combine all  ingredients in column one, two, and three.  Beat the mixture.  Let rise until double.

Add 4 cups flour.  Knead.  Let rise until double.

Make out and let rise again.

Bake.  Eat.

If you are making cinnamon buns instead of rolls proceed to the make out stage.  Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick spread with butter, sugar and cinnamon- not too thick with either.  Roll up.  Cut to appropriate length.  Put in pans.  Let rise.  Bake.  Eat - but not all at once please.

There is no temperature on this recipe.  I expect about 425 and until they brown nicely.
