****** NOTE ****** These files contain Preliminary, Unaudited data from the R/V Albatross IV and F/V Sea Breeze collected during the Cooperative Survey Trawl Study (Cruise AL 02-11). All data are subject to change after detailed audits are completed. ********************
AL0211-data.xls: A Microsoft Excel 2000 spreadsheet containing the basic station by station species catch data from the Albatross and Sea Breeze. This is the primary data file that was generated throughout the cruise. Along with species catch data, station data (date, time, location, depth, etc.) are listed for each tow. The data is organized into 7 worksheets. The first four worksheets list Albatross Weight per Tow (kg), Albatross Numbers per Tow, and Sea Breeze Weight per tow, and Sea Breeze Numbers per Tow. The last 3 worksheets contain data sorted by block with data from each ship listed side-by-side.
AL0211-othercatch.xls: This worksheet contains data recorded by watch chiefs listing the composition of the ‘non-fish’ portion of the trawl catch with items as varied as starfish and fishing line. The volume and composition for each tow made by the Albatross are listed.
AL0211-lengths.xls: This spreadsheet contains 14 worksheets with length frequency data collected from Albatross tows. Each worksheet contains data for one species; and includes the length, number at length by area (1, 2, or 3) and gear configuration (0 = standard, and 1 = worst case scenario) and histograms displaying the data. The species include are: Cod, Haddock, Silver hake, White hake, Red hake, American plaice, Fourspot flounder, Winter flounder, Witch flounder, Monkfish, Redfish, Barndoor skate, Winter skate, and Little Skate.
AL02-11-SBlengths.xls: This spreadsheet contains 18 worksheets with length frequency data collected from the Sea Breeze. Each worksheet contains data for one species; and includes the length, number at length by area (1, 2, or 3) and histograms displaying the data. The species include are: Cod, Haddock, Silver hake, White hake, Red hake, American plaice, Fourspot flounder, Winter flounder, Witch flounder, Monkfish, Redfish, Barndoor skate, Winter skate, Little Skate, Spiny dogfish, Yellowtail flounder, Herring, and Butterfish.
AL0211_ITI_area1.xls: Contains ITI sensor data as well as the start and stop times of tows 2-22 in area 1. Also contains graphs of ITI data showing sensor readings against time, and indicating the start and stop times of the tow. A comparison graph with sensor reading from all tows is also contained in the file.
AL0211_ITI_area2.xls: Contains ITI sensor data as well as the start and stop times of tows 23-48, and offset experimental tows 901 and 902. Comparison graphs with multiple tows of sensor readings are also included.
AL0211_ITI_area3.xls: Contains ITI sensor data as well as the start and stop times of tows 49-72. Comparison graphs with multiple tows of sensor readings are also included.
AL0211_ITIsta903_4.xls: Contains sensor readings for offset experimental tow 903 as well as the time sequence for offsets. Graphs of sensor readings are included.
AL0211_ITIsta905_6.xls: Contains sensor readings for offset experimental tow 905 as well as the time sequence for offsets. Graphs of sensor readings are included.
